Girls Basketball Hangs Tough with Kohler, Defeats Messmer

This past week on Monday, November 27th, the Girl’s Varsity Basketball team traveled out to Kohler for a non-conference game. The girls were defeated by 10 points with an ending score of 54-64. Morgan Allen was the leading scorer with 17 points and Julia Jensen followed her with 13 points. By halftime, Brookfield Academy was leading with a score of 25-23, however with Kohler’s press in the second half the Bombers were able to gain the lead. Although the girls lost, the Kohler coach was sure to congratulate the team on a well fought out game.

Following this game, on Thursday, November 29th, the girls won their first conference game of the season defeating Messmer in an overall score of 60-34. Erina Weiss finished with a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds following Morgan Allen with 13 points and 14 rebounds. Julia Jensen adding 12 points with tough defensive throughout the game. The girls will continue their conference battle on HOPE Christian’s home court next week Friday, December 7th, be sure to wish the girls good luck this week!
