On Saturday the Blue Knights fencing teams kicked off the start of the dual-meet season. BA hosted visited teams Catholic Memorial, Stevenson High school , Libertyville, and Marian Catholic Central.

The results were somewhat skewed for several teams due to academic conflicts resulting in incomplete teams, but the remaining fencers fought hard. Stevenson dominated the day. The boys team was unable to pull off any victories but came up with an unusual 13-13 tie with Catholic Memorial. Epee fencers Jerry Qui and Dan Kratoska performed well throughout the day. Strong performances by Hope Schlosser (12-0) and Hannah Wallace (9-3) in epee led the way to a better day for the girls team with three victories against one loss to Stevenson. Reena Singhal also did well, going 8-4 in foil. Matches resume in two weeks at University of Chicago Laboratory School.
