Mrs. Dehne Reveals Truth Behind Increased Snack Price
Increased Snack Prices
Entering the new 2022-2023 school year, high school students at Brookfield Academy have been shocked to find that the price of snacks in the vending machine has increased at a rate of 50% over the past year. In order to find reasons behind the raising prices, an interview is done with the student activity director Mrs.Dehne. “The price set factors in electricity cost, work hours, and inflation” she states. The profit margin ranges between 0.3~0.4$ per, a fair profit range compared to other stores. Although a popular thought among the student body is that the vending machines should acquire a card reader. Whether the price is fair or not something that surely will boost sales prompting better funding for school events will be installing a card reader increasing customer diversity.
“The profit from the vending machine goes back to the students, and helps fund school events.” — Mrs.Dehne
